Summary

Lead the Future of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure!  We’re seeking an experienced civil engineer to help drive the success of our Water and Wastewater group through technical leadership, project management, and client engagement. In this role, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects, while also shaping the growth and direction of our practice.  Our firm takes a comprehensive, cost-effective approach to water and wastewater systems. For drinking water, we focus on reliable supply, exceptional quality, and systems designed for straightforward operation. When it comes to wastewater, we believe the best systems are nearly invisible, performing reliably in the background, with redundancy built in for planned maintenance or upgrades.

As a senior team member, you'll manage multidisciplinary teams, build strong client relationships, and contribute to business development efforts. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and driving innovation in how we deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Technical leader/mentor on large/complex projects. Has excellent communication skills, answers questions from those with less experience, and takes action based on the needs of the team.

Project Delivery

Leads the production of and provides quality control for the following:

  • Major facility plans and economic analysis for pumping/treatment/storage components
  • Multi-disciplined, larger teams
  • Water/wastewater treatment
  • Major equipment selection/procurement
  • Complex instrumentation and controls
  • Construction bidding documents
  • Construction support phase of multi-discipline projects
  • Client/public presentations
  • Technical presentations in house or conferences

Understanding Budget and Schedule

Advanced understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. Develops budgets and schedules for complex projects in conjunction with the project manager. Able to prioritize multiple assignments to successfully deliver all assigned projects on time and on budget. Mentors others on above.

  • Expertly interprets, selects, and employs design codes

  • NFPA820 Fire Code for WW Facilities
  • 10 state standards
  • LT2 SWTR

    • Understands limitations of design codes
    • Understands when deviation from design codes is appropriate
    • Actively mentors others in design code deviations and interpretation

Client Interaction

Frequent direct communications with clients on large/complex projects. Leads technical client project meetings. Understands appropriate messaging and legal risks. Engages as industry expert on complex projects and pursuits. Leads technical aspects of project interviews. Mentors others on same.

Level of Work/Accountability

Efficiently performs the most technically complex and demanding technical work without supervision. Reviews the work of others and mentors others on complex project tasks. May perform project management duties as needed.

Supervisory Duties

  • Oversees team operations and the daily workflow of the team

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Years of experience required: 15 years
  • Years of experience required with advanced degree: 14 years

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • PE required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
