The purpose of the class is to perform routine manual work in the Wastewater Collections division. This class is responsible for service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, valves, fittings, and manholes; landscape, road, sidewalk, driveway restoration and other outdoor work. Completes logs or routine records. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision. Weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required, as well as after-hours response and emergencies.
High School Diploma or equivalent required at time of hire.
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
MOT approved certification within 18 months of hire (City can provide training, but preferred at time of hire)
Confined Space Entry Certification within 18 months of hire (City can provide training but preferred at time of hire)
Must obtain a Class C Wastewater Collections Certification within 18 months of hire.
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must obtain a Class B CDL permit within 6 months of hire and Class B CDL with within one year of employment.
