Under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the purpose of the position is to manage the wastewater system as well as operate light and heavy equipment. Employees in this classification have a thorough knowledge of the principles of the wastewater system. This position is responsible for successfully maintaining the wastewater operations, the work, and the equipment materials, and supplies utilized by the department. Performs related work as required.
High School diploma or GED equivalent; supplemented by one year (1) previous experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience involving the plumbing trade or water/wastewater line repair. TCEQ Collection I-Sewer certificate or equivalent. May be required to obtain a TCEQ Class C distribution certificate. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, and physical and criminal background check. Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to drive; maintain and provide proof of liability insurance. Have and maintain a professional, inviting, and friendly demeanor. Must have a working cell phone and the ability to respond to after-hours calls.
