Summary

The Wastewater Laboratory Intern will support Wastewater Laboratory staff in analysis and assessment of factors that impact wastewater treatment operations. Seeking a highly motivated candidate who will be able to assist the laboratory in gathering data by doing experiments and preparing and restocking lab items.

Job Responsibilities

Laboratory Intern supports lab operations by preparing samples, running basic tests, maintaining equipment, and organizing supplies, all under supervision, gaining practical experience in a professional setting.

Key duties involve data logging, cleaning, adhering to safety rules (like CLIA/OSHA), and assisting senior staff with experiments, crucial for both research and clinical settings. Intern should have reasonable fitness to walk up multiple flights of stars out in the field and carry carboys of water samples.

Required Education and Experience

At the time of application, applicant must:

• Currently enrolled in an associates, bachelors or master’s degree program with an accredited college or university

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program to the internship in which they are applying

• A student in good standing and classified by their institution as a rising sophomore or higher

• Able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week

• Able to commit to the intern position for a minimum of two months

Other Requirements:

Valid Driver's License

Physical requirements:

Must be able to walk up multiple flights of stairs out in the field and carry carboys of water samples.
